Selection Processes
Stage 1: Nomination
- Each qualified nominator receives a nomination letter to submit one nominee each year. Each nomination is valid for 3 years.
- We encourage nominators to nominate a new candidate in each selection round to avoid duplicate nominations.
- The secretariat checks the eligibility of nominees received, monitored by the workgroup.
Stage 2: Material Submission
After the qualified nominees have been identified, an invitation is sent to nominees with instructions to submit a full application material to be reviewed by the Committee of the fellowship. The submission should be done before the deadline.
*Material Required:
1) CV and basic personal information. A CV should cover the main experience (no more than 5 pages in a standard format)
2) Research Statements.
a) Past Research - describes what you have done in the past (800-1000 words);
b) Future Research Plan – describing what you wish/plan on doing in 5-10 years (800-1000 words)
3) Three Letters of Recommendation. Letters should be submitted separately by the recommenders. The nominator can submit one letter.
Stage 3: Review
The secretariat will first conduct a preliminary screening to ensure the completion of material submitted by the nominees.
The selection committee will review and evaluate the candidates by the material submitted and decide on the top candidates. Ad-hoc members will be invited to provide an evaluation when necessary. The top candidates will be ratified by the Steering Committee.
Stage 4: Announcement of the Recipients
The official announcement will be made on the website and notified to the recipients, unselected candidates, and all members of the Fellowship via email and website.
